On October 19, 2025, SOS, in partnership with AID FOR GAZA, carried out a humanitarian campaign to distribute food meals to wounded patients, injured civilians, and sick people receiving treatment at Al-Shifa Medical Hospital in غزة, which suffered massive destruction due to the ongoing war on the Gaza Strip.

This initiative came at a time when conditions inside the hospital were extremely catastrophic. Injured patients and civilians were suffering from severe shortages of food, medicine, and essential medical supplies amid the near collapse of Gaza’s healthcare system and the continuous influx of wounded people.

According to reports issued by the World Health Organization (WHO) during that period, Gaza’s hospitals were operating far beyond their capacity, while many essential medicines and medical supplies had reached “zero stock” levels. WHO also stated that Al-Shifa Hospital was functioning under extremely limited capacity while overcrowded with wounded patients and civilians in urgent need of medical care.

United Nations reports further confirmed that patients and wounded civilians inside hospitals were facing harsh humanitarian conditions due to shortages of food, clean water, fuel, and medicine, while international organizations warned of the worsening health and humanitarian catastrophe across Gaza.

During the campaign, food meals were distributed to injured patients and sick civilians exhausted by war, pain, and hunger, in an effort to ease part of their suffering and provide them with a sense of human solidarity during one of the darkest periods faced by Gaza’s healthcare sector.

Humanitarian organizations and volunteers continue their efforts to support the wounded, the sick, and displaced families despite the enormous challenges and the ongoing humanitarian collapse caused by the war.
