Preserving Heritage Through Dabka: Gaza’s Children Reconnect with Their Palestinian Roots

Preserving Heritage Through Dabka: Gaza’s Children Reconnect with Their Palestinian Roots

On October 7, 2025, INCA, in partnership with AID FOR GAZA, organized a cultural training activity for students at the “Children of Gaza” school, teaching them the traditional Palestinian Dabka dance as part of efforts to strengthen children’s connection to their rich cultural heritage that extends back hundreds of years.

This initiative came during the difficult humanitarian conditions faced by children in Gaza, where war and displacement continue to impact their daily lives and emotional well-being. Through cultural and educational activities, the campaign aimed to provide children with moments of joy, belonging, and hope despite the hardships surrounding them.

The traditional Dabka dance represents an important symbol of Palestinian identity, history, and unity. By teaching children this cultural heritage, the initiative sought to preserve Palestinian traditions and help younger generations remain connected to their roots and national identity.

The students participated with enthusiasm and joy, reflecting the importance of cultural activities in supporting children psychologically and emotionally during times of crisis.

INCA and AID FOR GAZA continue their humanitarian and educational efforts to support Gaza’s children through initiatives that combine relief, education, and cultural preservation.
