Solar Light Restores Hope to Gaza’s Children School
Solar Light Restores Hope to Gaza’s Children School
On November 20, 2025, Consejo General Del Trabajo Social, in partnership with AID FOR GAZA and INCA, carried out a humanitarian initiative to install an electrical network and provide solar-powered lighting for classrooms at the “Children of Gaza” school.
This initiative comes after more than two years of continuous electricity outages across the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, following the destruction of power generation facilities and vital infrastructure caused by the war. Since then, millions of people in Gaza, including displaced families, have been living without stable access to electricity, affecting every aspect of daily life, education, healthcare, and humanitarian services.
Children in Gaza have been forced to study under extremely difficult conditions, often inside damaged schools or temporary shelters lacking proper lighting and basic educational resources. The installation of solar energy systems aimed to restore a safer and more suitable learning environment for students and help classrooms function despite the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
For many students, seeing their classrooms illuminated again represented more than just electricity—it was a symbol of hope, resilience, and the determination to continue learning despite war and displacement.
This humanitarian effort reflects the importance of sustainable support projects that help restore dignity and essential services to children and families affected by the ongoing crisis in Gaza.
